MEET THE FOUNDERS

Jeff Rocker - CEO

jrocker@howweseeit.org

CEO of How We See It, Inc. Mr. Rocker has established a team of diverse individuals that are changing the world’s perspective on mental health one community at a time. His team does multiple outreach programs for these communities to help dispel the myths of therapy and remove the stigma around mental health.

One of the outreach programs that Mr. Rocker created is called Hip Hop Therapy. This is an interactive workshop done in high schools across South Florida. His goal is for students to have a safe space to express themselves in an unconventional manner. Growing up with a musical background, this program is one that truly resonates with him on a personal level.

Prior to the birth of HWSI, Mr. Rocker spent his time giving back to the community in other ways he could. Over the years, Jeff has organized lectures and various events in the community, including excursions and retreats for couples to improve their communication and gain a better understanding of each other. He has experience working with clients in the sports and music industry to improve their performance in high level moments.

Mr. Rocker is in the process of earning his PhD in Marriage and Family therapy from Nova Southeastern University and currently is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. He obtained his masters from Nova Southeastern and his bachelors from Bethune Cookman University.

Herman Mclean - CFO

Herman McLean Jr. is a highly skilled Mental Health Clinician. Herman has made his life's purpose the betterment of his community as well as those that mirror his own throughout the nation. Herman began working in a Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Center as an Advocate and has been working within the clinical setting for over the past 10 years.

As a graduate from St Thomas University, Herman has had the privilege of learning from some of the most innovative and knowledgeable therapists / educators to represent their respective areas of expertise. With this knowledge, Herman has maintained a standard of success by applying his studies in real-world settings. Herman has extensive experience working with issues including but not limited to: depression, anger, substance use, couples, and psychodynamic groups within multiple age groups.

As a co-founder of How We See It Inc., Herman's purpose has become to challenge the ways in which therapy is viewed and it’s the accessibility to communities much like his own. This has led to a mindset of becoming much more preventative, which has led How We See It Inc, to become much more involved with providing Psycho-Education to students within various schools within the South Florida area.

Herman's interaction with various relational systems has led him to pursue a DMFT Doctoral Degree in Marriage and Family at Nova Southeastern University, where he hopes to better understand the dynamics of familial systems; how they work, how they break, and how they can be fixed. Herman's peers and clients would describe him as empathetic, understanding and providing unconditional positive regard to those that he interacts with. Herman’s drive as a therapist comes with the premise of providing clients with a safe therapeutic environment, gaining insight and self-awareness, the ability to be expressive without judgment.

"Through curiosity and discovery, we can begin to build and forge your new narrative".
