Breaking the Stigma of Therapy Within Our Schools and Communities

How We See It Inc. is a nonprofit organization created with the premise of breaking the stigma of therapy within our community.

We aim to educate students as well as their families, raise awareness to mental health issues, and promote a cultural shift toward healthy relationships.

Music & Hip Hop Therapy

We use Hip-Hop music as a platform to discuss and educate the youth on the various aspects of mental health and mental health awareness. We encourage youth to creatively express their understanding of sad, but prevalent topics including anxiety, depression, suicide, etc.

Through the use of Hip-Hop lyrics and content, the stage is set to provide valuable material to create a dialogue with students. We teach students to empathize with others and notice signs of mental health battles within themselves and those they interact with by reflecting on their experiences.

Community Workshops

We create community-focused events to engage students in discussions of mental health because it's hard to focus on one's own personal mental health  -  or the mental health of others  -  when we're caught up in our day-to-day lives.

We use events to shift our focus from personal worries to embracing the moment right in front of us. It is critical to be present rather than being distracted by the numerous things we cannot change or control.
